The Whipkey Three perform two new songs for Guest List

For our fourth edition of Guest List, we caught up with Americana band The Whipkey Three.

Band leader Matt Whipkey is a guitar gunslinger. Once he pulls his Telecaster from its case, be prepared to have blues riffs, rock jams and razor sharp guitar solos fly past your head.

We joined The Whipkey Three – drummer Scott Zimmerman, bassist Travis Sing and Whipkey – in Zimmerman’s living room where they performed acoustic versions of two new songs. The band’s new album, “Two Truths,” will be released on May 12.

“The record is a big, old straight-ahead rock ‘n’ roll record – big guitars, big drums, big bass,” Sing told us.

“It’s very much a rock record,” Whipkey added. “We have that quiet side to it sometimes, too.”
