Jake Bellows’ new band set to play O’Leaver’s on Wednesday

Jake Bellows of Neva Dinova and, more recently, of Whispertown will play O’Leaver’s on Wednesday with his new band.

When I spoke to Bellows during SXSW, he talked about the new material he’d been recording with a new band in the winter and spring. The band includes Bellows, Ben Brodin (Our Fox), Todd Fink (Depressed Buttons, The Faint), Ryan Fox (Our Fox), Heath Koontz (Neva Dinova) and Matt Amandus.

They’re not exactly sure whether to give the band a name or just call it “Jake Bellows,” which is one of the reasons not a lot of people have heard about Wednesday’s show.

If all these fine musicians  aren’t enough to get you through the door,  consider that 1) Simon Joyner is also playing and 2) since they all live in different places (several in LA, some here), this is probably one of the only times you’ll see the band play for time.

I’m excited to hear these songs and the guys from the band have told me they’re excited to play them.

Over at JakeBellows.com, you can listen to clips of some of the new tracks and buy others in the store.

Watch Bellows play “Blood From Wine” with Whispertown on Guest List.
