See a free rock show and be in a movie

Lonely Estates

A cool event is going down tonight at the Waiting Room: The crew of the indie film “Flyover Country,” which is filming in Omaha and Chicago, is doing one of its biggest scenes.

According to an event post on Facebook, one of the comedy/drama’s big sequences is at a live music venue.

Lonely Estates will play the show from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (how they’re doing five hours of material, I’m not sure… How they’re going to film a scene with a rock band playing and hundreds of people talking and milling about is a different story altogether).

Anyway, it’s free and they’re looking for a lot of people to drink (cash bar!) and mill about as extras in the film.

Other scenes appear to have been filmed at Benson bars, outside TD Ameritrade Park and at the pedestrian bridge.

The film’s Facebook page has a ton of photos from Omaha and Chicago locations.
