The band formed around Jake Bellows (I like to call it Jake Bellows & Friends) has a collection of talented musicians: Bellows of Neva Dinova, Todd Fink of The Faint as well as Ben Brodin, Heath Koontz and Ryan Fox, all of whom have played in various bands.
Bellows debuted his new song, “Help,” on American Songwriter.
“‘Help’ was written about how arbitrary life can seem, and the frustration that comes with attempting to put an order to it,” he told American Songwriter. “A distracting parade of pointless dancing and cultural randomness, all but impossible to negotiate. The idea that your love can keep someone happy and engaged in the world is a hopeful and positive notion, however improbable it may be.”
The track has some backing vocals from Bellows’ Whispertown bandmate Morgan Nagler as well.
I enjoyed the band’s debut at O’Leaver’s and I’m happy to see Bellows is going to release the music. Coolest part: It’s going to be on a ten-track cassette tape (with a download included of side A’s five songs.)
