If you’re up for some local music, it’s a good weekend for it. There are several good shows and some diversity among genres, which is always nice.
There’s lots going on, and I picked some highlights.
» Satchel Grande plays Saturday with Wilde Belle over at Slowdown. They usually pack it in and it should be a fun night.
» Also on Saturday is Vago’s third annual Burns Night. In addition to Vago, you’ll see Witness Tree, The Electroliners and 24 Hour Cardlock. The night is a celebration of Scottish poet Robert Burns and will even include haggis. Yum.
» The fun continues at The Waiting Room with Buck Bowen’s CD release tonight. That will be one of the most fun shows of the weekend. Bowen’s shifted from hip-hop to EDM, so it will be interesting to see where he’s taking things. Saturday’s Band Build will also be a highlight, as it’s a Habitat For Humanity benefit and you’ll get Icky Blossoms, Blue Bird and others performing. On Sunday, Back When takes the stage.
